Tommy Cash, everything's "OK." AC Milan support, the Panda, and... the umbrella gesture.

Tommy Cash, everything's "OK." AC Milan support, the Panda, and... the umbrella gesture.

"I eat mortadella, it's better than a model" is the quintessential rhyming couplet from "Ok," the single with which Tommy Cash, after his third-place finish at the Eurovision song "Espresso Macchiato," once again gives voice to his longing for Italy, citing Pinocchio and the tarantella, Al Bano ("Happiness") and Ricchi e Poveri ("It'll be because I love you"). A primary school primer ('A for Love, B for Banana, C for Song...) conceived to the polyphonic ringtone of an old Nokia 3310, premiered around Ferragosto on the stage of the Red Valley Festival in Olbia and presented yesterday in Milan, along with the video also shot in Lodi and Offanengo while driving a super-slim Panda (created by Andrea Marazzi from Crema). All this while waiting to return to Segrate on the stage of the Magnolia on September 11th.

Tommy, why did you choose to reinvent “Tommaso Cash” with a song in Italian?

"It was natural. We were making music with the other songwriters, and this song came out, in Italian. Yours is a catchy and beautiful language, so why change it?"

He co-signs it with Andrea Bonomo and Edwin Roberts, authors with Gabry Ponte of “Tutta l'Italia”, and Simone Guzzino.

"I wanted to work with new people, make new friends. The fact that the song sounds completely different from 'Tutta l'Italia' means they're super talented. I love them."

In the video he shows that he has also assimilated a certain Italian expressiveness.

"Yes, starting with the umbrella gesture."

Ten days ago he was in the stands at San Siro for Milan-Bari.

"In addition to suggesting I go see the Coppa Italia match, they gave me a Rossoneri jersey with my name on the back. That's how I entered the cult of the Devil, and now my only faith is AC Milan."

From the video it would seem that she has a certain obsession with Donatella Versace.

"Do you have his phone number?"

Unfortunately not.

"I've been trying to find her throughout the video, but she doesn't call back. I'm very sorry."

Why?

"Because I think she's a perfect woman."

Staying on the subject of looks, let's look at his terrible ties. Has anyone pointed out that they resemble the ones in the White House?

"During Eurovision, I saw videos online of people who saw political references behind the performance of 'Espresso macchiato'. I even found a 30-minute in-depth analysis on why I was joking about Trump. It's all very funny, come on. People make up so many theories... The only thing that's true is that after Basel, I started to love ties and now I dress like a young gentleman."
